Hello,

Jee is a Leadership Coach, Creative Director and professor. She is also the founder and Leadership Director at UME, an inside-out brand consultancy working with radical visionaries and vanguard organizations to build a more regenerative and inclusive future. Her work focuses on elevating principles of feminine leadership and to move hearts and minds to greater consciousness in business through brand strategies, leadership development, or teaching at Parsons – The New School and Pratt Institute.

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”

— Einsten

More about me.

I began my career as an editorial designer at Penguin Books where I learned about storytelling before moving into art direction at Badger Agency, working under Madonna Badger; where I created brands and advertising campaigns for Clairol, Bon Appétit, and Celine Dion Parfum.

In 2010, I founded my first company, and led creative design teams for Amazon Fashion, CNN, Weleda USA and the Food Network. After 10 years of experience in the beauty, food, lifestyle and home goods categories, I realized the most rewarding part of being a creative director was nurturing talent and creating space for my teams to step into their genius.

This led to launch my second company, UME, a women-led collective brand consultancy aligning strategy, identity, and culture to give organizations the foundation they need to scale and lead with brand integrity. UME’s holistic approach is in efforts to elevate principles of feminine leadership.

Now as the Leadership Director, I encourage people to discover the synergy between their own personal values and purpose and the values and purpose of their organization. Whether it’s helping executives to get unstuck, supporting teams become more open and honest in the workplace, or empowering entrepreneurs to launch and go-to-market. I believe in order to grow sustainably, every organization needs to work inside-out and that starts with the mindsets of the leadership.

When I’m not leading creative teams, starting a mentorship circle or supporting social change initiatives in developing countries, I’m teaching the next generation of creative leaders as an adjunct professor at Parsons, School of Design Strategies or at Pratt Institute’s School of Design.
